At launch, CNN+ will showcase 8 to 12 hours of live, daily programming with key CNN talent as well as new faces. It will also deliver a slate of library of\u00a0non-fiction programming such as\u00a0<em>Anthony Bourdain:\u00a0Parts Unknown<\/em>,<em> Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy<\/em>,\u00a0<em>This is Life with\u00a0Lisa Ling<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>United Shades of America<\/em>\u00a0with W. Kamau Bell. New original series and specials developed specifically for CNN+ will be unveiled later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNN invented cable news in 1980, defined online news in 1995 and now is taking an important step in expanding what news can be by launching a direct-to-consumer streaming subscription service in 2022,\u201d said Jeff Zucker, chairman of WarnerMedia News and Sports and president of CNN Worldwide. \u201cAs the most trusted and recognized name in news, CNN has unrivaled global reach, world-class talent and a deep existing library of content including award winning series and films. On top of a television offering that has never been stronger, which remains at the core of what we do today, we will offer consumers a streaming product that grows the reach and scope of the CNN brand in a way that no one else is doing.\u00a0Nothing like this exists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor 41 years, global audiences have turned to CNN as an essential source of news and information, which is rooted in our deep commitment to quality journalism,\u201d added Andrew Morse, CNN Worldwide&#8217;s chief digital officer. \u201cCNN+ will be built on a foundation of world class reporting and storytelling and a commitment to meet our audiences wherever they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morse will provide oversight for CNN+, in charge of\u00a0content, product development and business operations. Alex MacCallum will serve as general manager, overseeing product development, customer acquisition and marketing, strategy and growth and revenue operations. Rebecca Kutler has been named senior VP and head of programming, with oversight for\u00a0live and taped programs.
