For the first time in 20 years, V\u00e1zquez speaks publicly about her painful past and addresses questions that have yet to be answered. <em>Dolores: The Truth About the Wanninkhof Case<\/em> is produced by Unicorn in Spain for HBO Max and will premiere in the second half of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2000, V\u00e1zquez was arrested as the main suspect in the murder of Roc\u00edo Wanninkhof, the daughter of her ex-partner. In the press, V\u00e1zquez was stigmatized for her sexuality, her character and her apparent indifference to the case, described as a cold, calculating and intelligent murderer. Roc\u00edo\u2019s mother, who became a frequent guest on TV, blamed her ex-partner for her daughter\u2019s death, destroying the public\u2019s perception of V\u00e1zquez. She was jailed and spent 519 days in prison for a crime she never committed.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dolores: The Truth About the Wanninkhof Case<\/em> aims to rebuild the story from all points of view, using archive images, interviews with the key protagonists and a reconstruction of the events.<\/p>\n<p>Xelo Montesinos, founder and CEO of Unicorn Content, said: \u201cFor the first time in 20 years, Dolores V\u00e1zquez, Loli, speaks publicly to tell her side of the story in this much-discussed case. This was one of the most serious miscarriages of justice in Spain ever, and finally, the story will be told in all its details for the first time. Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction, and in this case, it&#8217;s even more obvious. This is a thriller full of unexpected twists, a controversial and amazing personal story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Salvat, executive producer for HBO Max, said: \u201cThe Wanninkhof case kept a whole country and its media on the edge of its seat. Twenty years on you will hear about it from a totally different point of view. Dolores V\u00e1zquez speaks candidly, telling her raw and painful story, with the benefit of time having passed.
