Beyond Rights has concluded deals with A+E Networks UK in Europe for the documentary series Curse of Akakor<\/em>, retitled as Curse of the Lost Amazon Gold<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Per the deals, the docuseries will air on the broadcaster\u2019s Sky HISTORY channel in the U.K. and The HISTORY Channel in Sweden, Benelux, Italy and Germany. Curse of the Lost Amazon Gold<\/em> will get its European premiere on Sky HISTORY in the U.K. on July 12 as part of the British broadcaster\u2019s Summer of Secrets event.<\/p>\n

Conceived as a short-form series for Facebook Watch, the extended 6×60-minute Curse of Akakor<\/em> was produced by Beyond Productions for Discovery in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Curse of the Lost Amazon Gold<\/em> tells the story of three different explorers, who set out to find the rumored ancient cities of Akakor and Akahim in the Amazon jungle in the 1980s. Each of the explorers mysteriously disappeared on their respective expeditions. Following six international investigators and adventurers on an epic new expedition into the Amazon jungle, the series aims to find out what happened to the missing explorers and to hunt for the two lost cities. The investigative team includes Megan Hine (Bear Grylls: Mission Survive<\/em>) and Paul Connolly (Inside the World\u2019s Toughest Prisons<\/em>).<\/p>\n
