1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything<\/em>, a new docuseries that will explore the musicians and soundtracks that shaped the culture and politics of 1971, is set to launch on Apple TV+.<\/p>\n

Featuring archival footage and interviews, 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything<\/em> will show how the musical icons of the time were influenced by the changing tides of history and how they used their music to inspire hope, change and the culture around them. The docuseries will examine such iconic artists as The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, The Who, Joni Mitchell, Lou Reed and more.<\/p>\n

Executive produced by Academy, BAFTA and Grammy Award winners Asif Kapadia (Amy<\/em>, Senna<\/em>) and James Gay-Rees (Amy<\/em>, Senna<\/em>, Exit Through the Gift Shop<\/em>), the eight-part docuseries will premiere on Apple TV+ on May 21.<\/p>\n

From Universal Music Group\u2019s (UMG) Mercury Studios in association with On The Corner Films, 1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything<\/em> will have Kapadia on board as series director and executive producer alongside Gay-Rees, David Joseph and UMG\u2019s Adam Barker.
