LFG<\/em>, a documentary film about the U.S. women\u2019s national soccer team\u2019s ongoing fight for equal pay, is set to premiere on HBO Max.<\/p>\n

Featuring players Megan Rapinoe, Jessica McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O\u2019Hara, Sam Mewis and others, LFG<\/em> is directed by Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine.<\/p>\n

Three months before the 2019 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup, the players filed a class-action, gender discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation. LFG<\/em> combines athletic performances with the players\u2019 ongoing pursuit for equal pay, granting viewers access to these game-changers as they meet the physical demands and pressures of being top athletes while pushing for long-lasting social change.<\/p>\n

Rapinoe said: \u201cThis fight is so much bigger than ourselves and the Women\u2019s National Team. We\u2019re doing it for the next generation of female soccer players and for women throughout the world in all industries and walks of life who are also fighting for equality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennifer O\u2019Connell, executive VP of non-fiction and live-action family programming at HBO Max, said: \u201cThis team of badass women is captivating on and off the field. Their domination in soccer, and determination to achieve parity with their male counterparts, is awe-inspiring.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lizzie Fox, senior VP of non-fiction programming at HBO Max, added: \u201cThis film sheds light on the lengths these players are willing to go to fight for women\u2019s rights and equality. It\u2019s a story that needs to be told and we can\u2019t wait to share it with audiences everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
