{"id":15443,"date":"2020-12-03T09:12:43","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T14:12:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/all3media-acquires-silverback-films\/"},"modified":"2020-12-03T11:15:47","modified_gmt":"2020-12-03T16:15:47","slug":"all3media-acquires-silverback-films","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/all3media-acquires-silverback-films\/","title":{"rendered":"All3Media Acquires Silverback Films"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Silverback Films, the production company founded by Alastair Fothergill and Keith Scholey, has been acquired by All3Media.<\/p>\n<p>The outfit, set up in 2012 and focused on natural-history content, made\u00a0<em>Our Planet<\/em> for Netflix, <em>The Hunt<\/em> for the BBC, a slate of <em>Disneynature<\/em> films and the feature-length doc <em>David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet<\/em>, which was released theatrically before arriving on Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The talent is world-class and Silverback is at the very top of its game at a time when the relevance of landmark natural-history programming has never been greater,&#8221; said Jane Turton, All3Media&#8217;s CEO, on the acquisition. \u201cSilverback\u2019s films are stunning\u2014showing us the diversity of the natural world and through their fantastic storytelling and ingenious mastery of technique and technology, they capture breathtaking moments on camera and take us to places we have never seen before and continue to teach us about the world\u2019s natural environments, and how vital it is to preserve them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fothergill, joint founder and CEO, added, \u201cWe have found a partner that shares our creative ambition to make the highest quality programming. Key to this is our shared focus on attracting and retaining the best talent long into the future.
