Netflix is slated to premiere a four-part documentary series about the life of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, made in collaboration with her family.<\/p>\n
Produced by Lightbox, the series will chronicle the 1996 murder that became a national obsession in Ireland and France. It will feature exclusive access to Toscan du Plantier\u2019s family, bringing together their testimony with that of Ian Bailey, the man at the center of the investigation.<\/p>\n
The case has been surrounded by controversy from the beginning, with prime suspect Bailey, never tried in Ireland but found guilty in the court of public opinion. Last year, a French court tried and convicted Bailey in his absence, however, the Irish courts have ruled against his extradition so he remains a free man in Ireland as Toscan du Plantier\u2019s family continues to fight for justice. Bailey maintains his innocence.<\/p>\n
