Discovery has promoted Tony Qiu to senior VP and general manager for East and Southeast Asia as well as head of global location-based entertainment business for Discovery Networks.<\/p>\n

Effective immediately, Qiu will oversee all aspects of business development and operational performance across Discovery\u2019s portfolio of entertainment brands. In his dual leadership role, he is charged with driving the growth of Discovery\u2019s business across the region and expanding its offerings with a focus on developing solutions and opportunities to target the region\u2019s growing digitally active consumers. Qiu is currently based in China and will relocate to Singapore in his new role.<\/p>\n

Qiu joined Discovery in 2018 and was previously spearheading the company\u2019s business across Greater China and Korea. He has innovated business models in advertisement sales, content production, location-based entertainment and digital ventures in the region for Discovery, leading to continuous double digital business growth. Prior to joining Discovery, Qiu was with JD.Com, a China-based e-commerce platform.<\/p>\n
