Little Dot Studios has acquired History Hit, a streaming platform co-founded by presenter and historian Dan Snow.<\/p>\n
The acquisition will combine Little Dot Studios\u2019 existing factual AVOD channels with History Hit\u2019s SVOD channel, podcasts and online communities to create an integrated history network. The network will also feature licensed activities including events and book publishing. As part of the deal, Snow will exclusively work with History Hit and All3Media\u2019s Little Dot Studios to create new online and broadcast content.<\/p>\n
Joining Little Dot Studios\u2019 existing digital brands Timeline and Absolute History, History Hit\u2019s SVOD service HistoryHit.TV hosts a curated collection of history films licensed from top documentary makers. Its podcasts, including Dan Snow\u2019s History Hit<\/em>, average around three million listens a month. History Hit also runs live events with partners including The British Museum, The Tower of London and English Heritage, and has licensed its first book, On This Day in History<\/em>.<\/p>\n Andy Taylor, co-founder and CEO of Little Dot Studios, said: \u201cAs factual-history programming has fallen out of favor with some traditional broadcasters, it has boomed on digital platforms across all age groups.
