{"id":14896,"date":"2020-08-03T11:14:02","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T15:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-studios-natural-history-unit-preps-planet-earth-celebration\/"},"modified":"2020-08-03T11:57:55","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T15:57:55","slug":"bbc-studios-natural-history-unit-preps-planet-earth-a-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-studios-natural-history-unit-preps-planet-earth-a-celebration\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Studios Natural History Unit Preps Planet Earth: A Celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BBC Studios Natural History Unit has made <em>Planet Earth: A Celebration<\/em>, a one-off special combining artists from music and wildlife filmmaking that will air on BBC One, BBC America and on Tencent in China this summer.<\/p>\n<p><em>Planet Earth: A Celebration<\/em> will take viewers on a journey to the wildest places on Earth through the gaze of some of nature\u2019s most extraordinary creatures from <em>Planet Earth II<\/em> and <em>Blue Planet II<\/em>. Sir David Attenborough recorded a new narration during lockdown at his home in London for the 60-minute special. A new score has been composed by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and the team at Bleeding Fingers and performed by Dave on the piano and the BBC Concert Orchestra on strings.<\/p>\n<p><em>Planet Earth: A Celebration<\/em> was co-produced by BBC America and Tencent Music Entertainment Group.<\/p>\n<p>Hans Zimmer said: \u201cWorking with David on so many of his magnificent programs celebrating nature and our planet has been a joy for me. I am constantly inspired by what he is able to capture, and the collection of sequences featured in <em>Planet Earth: A Celebration<\/em> is truly special. It was an honor to once again work with David, Jacob Shea and the BBC Concert Orchestra to highlight these incredible stories once again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dave said: \u201cI\u2019ve always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries, This is a program where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jo Shinner, executive producer of BBC Studios Natural History Unit, said: \u201cFrom Sir David right through to the crew\u2014we all had to push ourselves creatively and technically under strict COVID social distancing guidelines to bring the magic and scale of this ambitious production to life. In times of crisis, nature can be a real healer, and we hope that this program will provide inspiration and comfort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Julian Hector, head of BBC Natural History Unit, said: \u201cI\u2019m so pleased we can celebrate <em>Planet Earth<\/em> at this time of great anxiety.
