Sniper Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VICE TV has set a June 2 premiere for the new true-crime doc series <em>I, Sniper<\/em>, which examines the 2002 Washington, D.C. sniper case.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-episode docuseries features unprecedented access to the people at the heart of the story; the surviving shooter himself opens up in a series of powerful phone calls from his supermax cell at Red Onion State Prison in Virginia and allows for an examination of the circumstances that led a teenager on the path to becoming a mass murderer. <em>I, Sniper<\/em> also features never-before-heard interviews with survivors, victims\u2019 families and investigators, including the lesser-known stories of those impacted by the killers prior to their arrival in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p><em>I, Sniper<\/em> is an Arrow Pictures production, led by Oscar-nominated executive producer and creative director John Smithson (Danny Boyle\u2019s <em>127 Hours<\/em>; <em>Touching the Void<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe D.C. sniper case was one of the most terrifying crimes in recent history. <em>I, Sniper<\/em> goes beyond the story we thought we all knew and investigates what led Lee Malvo down his horrific path,\u201d said Morgan Hertzan, executive VP and general manager of VICE Television. \u201cViewers will be seized by the incredible storytelling in this series and its ability to take you through this series of events like never before.
