Lost Ships: The Hunt for the Kaiser\u2019s Superfleet<\/em>, a documentary special from TVT Productions, is slated to land on Smithsonian Channel in the U.K. and U.S.<\/p>\n About an underwater search to find the location of a fleet of infamous German battleships sunk in 1914 off the Falklands Islands, Lost Ships: The Hunt for the Kaiser\u2019s Superfleet<\/em> is led by the Falklands-born underwater archaeologist Mensun Bound. In the doc, Bound attempts to locate the iconic vessels, including the SMS Scharnhorst, which were sunk by the British Navy during one of the first great sea battles of World War I. CGI graphics, underwater footage and archive provide the backstory in the special as it documents the race against time to locate the wrecks.<\/p>\n Lost Ships: The Hunt for the Kaiser\u2019s Superfleet<\/em> is a TVT Production in association with Polestar Pictures. The program was produced with funding from The Falkland Maritime Heritage Trust.<\/p>\n Executive Producer Charles Thompson said: \u201cLost Ships: The Hunt for the Kaiser\u2019s Superfleet<\/em> is a riveting story of the culmination of one man\u2019s childhood dream to find a lost fleet of the world\u2019s most fearsome battleships.
