{"id":14140,"date":"2020-02-20T09:54:13","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T14:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/banijay-rights-sells-thomas-markle-doc-latam\/"},"modified":"2020-02-20T15:34:09","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T20:34:09","slug":"banijay-rights-sells-thomas-markle-doc-into-latam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/banijay-rights-sells-thomas-markle-doc-into-latam\/","title":{"rendered":"Banijay Rights Sells Thomas Markle Doc into LatAm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Banijay Rights has sold the documentary <em>Thomas Markle: My Story<\/em> to OnDIRECTV Latin America in addition to a number of other international broadcasters.<\/p>\n<p>The pay-TV provider will broadcast the doc in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela through its OnDIRECTV channel. <em>Thomas Markle: My Story<\/em>, which first broadcast on the U.K.\u2019s Channel 5, previously sold to Movistar+ in Spain, RTL and VTM in Belgium, yes and Channel 8 in Israel, New Zealand\u2019s TVNZ, Discovery Nordics and Virgin Media in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>From Alaska TV, <em>Thomas Markle: My Story<\/em> offers up-to-the-minute, first-person insight into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s decision to step down from royal duties. In the 90-minute doc, a never-before-seen archive of stills and videos of Meghan Markle are featured as her father\u00a0shares his side of the story.<\/p>\n<p>Elliott Chalkley, VP of sales at Banijay Rights, said: \u201cThe documentary created a great buzz at NATPE Miami and we are thrilled to see how quickly that has translated into sales. <em>Thomas Markle: My Story<\/em> is an important record, portrayed in a sensitive manner by an award-winning creative team.
