{"id":14026,"date":"2020-01-28T01:32:38","date_gmt":"2020-01-28T06:32:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-orders-more-antiques-series-from-stv-productions\/"},"modified":"2020-01-29T09:07:21","modified_gmt":"2020-01-29T14:07:21","slug":"bbc-orders-more-antiques-series-from-stv-productions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-orders-more-antiques-series-from-stv-productions\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Orders More Antiques Series from STV Productions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">STV Productions has secured its largest-ever order for\u00a0<i>Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0and its sister series\u00a0<i>Celebrity Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0from the BBC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Four new seasons of the long-running show have been confirmed for BBC One, along with two seasons of the celebrity version for BBC Two, making this the largest-ever order of the two series for the independent production company.\u00a0The six new seasons\u2014140 episodes in total\u2014will air over the next two years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This commission marks the production of seasons 21 through 24 of\u00a0<i>Antiques Road Trip<\/i>, which will follow the country\u2019s top antiques experts as they return for a scenic road trip across the U.K., seeking out quirky and valuable antiques to auction off for profit, all in aid of children in need.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The 10th and 11th seasons of\u00a0<i>Celebrity Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0will feature a new lineup of hopeful celebs turned antique hunters, all under the watchful eye of the show\u2019s regular experts. Previous seasons have featured a host of famous faces, including Jennifer Saunders, Russell Kane, Ricky Tomlinson and Kelly Brook, among a slew of others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Carla-Maria Lawson said: \u201c<i>Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Celebrity Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0are appointment to view TV, so I\u2019m over the moon we can bring viewers this bumper haul of new episodes to BBC One and Two.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">David Mortimer, managing director of STV Productions, said: \u201c<i>Antiques Road Trip<\/i>\u00a0and its celebrity sister series perform incredibly well for the BBC and we\u2019re thrilled to have secured a 140 episode deal over two years. As we continue with our growth strategy to establish STV Productions as a major player in the independent production sector, this significant commission for two returning series that never fail to deliver ratings, is fantastic news.
