Orange Smarty has inked a string of deals across the Nordic territories, including one with DR Denmark, representing more than 120 hours of factual-entertainment content.<\/p>\n
DR Denmark has taken 12 hours of Orange Smarty\u2019s best-selling true-crime titles, including three Channel 4 documentaries: the second season of Catching A Killer<\/em>, for which the Thames Valley Police granted producer True Vision unprecedented access to its Major Crimes Unit; The Great Train Robbery: The Hidden Tapes<\/em>, which uncovers facts about the notorious heist that have remained hidden for close on 60 years; and Sex, Drugs & Murder<\/em>, which investigates the epidemic of date-rape drugs in the gay community. Among the other true-crime titles included in the deal is ITN Production\u2019s Joanne Dennehy: The Making of a Serial Killer<\/em> for ITV.<\/p>\n Also headed for Denmark are Channel 5\u2019s Meet the Hedgehogs: The Series<\/em> and another ITN production for Channel 4, The Secret Lives of Slim People<\/em>, which have been licensed by the public broadcaster TV2. Set in the Amazing Grace Rescue Centre founded by Dr. Brian May of rock band Queen fame, the former introduces viewers to the amazing world of the hedgehog, while the latter examines the behaviors and eating patterns of the naturally slender.<\/p>\n The Finnish public broadcaster YLE has licensed 14 hours of Orange Smarty content, including CBS Reality\u2019s ten-part true-crime series The Real Prime Suspect<\/em>, fronted by the Metropolitan police officer who inspired Helen Mirren\u2019s character in the U.K. drama of the same name. The YLE deal also includes ITN Productions\u2019 Meghan and Harry: Baby Fever<\/em>, a 60-minute special about the latest addition to the U.K.\u2019s royal family. Three Stacey Dooley-fronted documentaries are also included in the package: BBC Three\u2019s Face to Face with the Bounty Hunters<\/em>, which sees the documentary-maker lift the veil on the U.S.\u2019 $14 billion-a-year bail-enforcement business; Stacey Meets the IS Brides<\/em>, produced for BBC One\u2019s Panorama strand, in which Dooley meets the Western women who have joined the so-called Islamic State; and BBC One\u2019s The Young and Homeless<\/em>, in which Dooley gives a voice to some of society\u2019s most vulnerable people.<\/p>\n Deals have also been closed with Sweden\u2019s TV4, SVT and the educational network UR. Among the titles covered by the three Swedish deals are Freeform\u2019s property-search series A Place in the Sun<\/em>, now heading into its 12th season for Channel 4; CTVC\u2019s acclaimed travelogue for BBC Two Pilgrimage: The Road to Rome<\/em>, in which eight celebrities of differing beliefs and faiths embark on a trek across the Alps; and three Stacey Dooley titles: Face to Face with the Bounty Hunters<\/em>, Stacey Meets the IS Brides<\/em> and Stacey Dooley Investigates: Kids Selling Drugs Online<\/em>.<\/p>\n Amy Kemp, Orange Smarty\u2019s head of sales, said: \u201cThere\u2019s one simple rule when it comes to selling entertainment into the Nordic region: don\u2019t bother unless you\u2019re offering the best.
