The series presents new perspectives on the feared Vikings and their pivotal role in European history.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 1,000 years ago, the Vikings left Scandinavia and settled across Europe\u2014giving their name to Normandy along the way\u2014before their Norman descendants seized the English throne at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. By combining expert analysis with compelling drama, <em>The Last Journey of the Vikings<\/em> (Swedish title:\u00a0<em>Vikingarnas sista resa<\/em>) tells a new and often surprising story about these complex people.<\/p>\n<p>NENT Group Chief Content Officer Filippa Wallestam said: \u201cThe story of the Vikings is the story of modern Europe\u2019s beginnings\u2014but these fascinating and sophisticated people are often misunderstood. <em>The Last Journey of the Vikings<\/em> looks beyond the popular image of ax-wielding marauders to suggest that the Vikings were creators as much as conquerors.
