{"id":13461,"date":"2019-10-09T09:30:51","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T13:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2019-10-09T11:24:20","modified_gmt":"2019-10-09T15:24:20","slug":"game-of-thrones-stars-indie-aligns-with-wildflame-zig-zag-for-true-viking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/game-of-thrones-stars-indie-aligns-with-wildflame-zig-zag-for-true-viking\/","title":{"rendered":"Game of Thrones Star\u2019s Indie Aligns with Wildflame &#038; Zig Zag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kristofer Hivju (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>) and his wife Gry Molv\u00e6r Hivju\u2019s independent production company Tindefilm\u00a0has entered into a co-production deal with the U.K. indies Wildflame\u00a0and Zig Zag Productions\u00a0to create the unscripted series <em>True Viking<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In <em>True Viking<\/em>, contestants will spend five weeks living as Vikings, mastering new skills and pushing themselves beyond their limits as they navigate snow-capped mountains on expeditions, fish on frozen lakes, build their own shelters, scavenge and hunt for food and train as the Vikings would for battle.\u00a0The endurance competition will include both group challenges and lone survival tasks. Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane in <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>, and TV presenter and director Gry Molv\u00e6r Hivju are set to host the ten-part series, which will be launched to international buyers at MIPCOM.<\/p>\n<p>Gry Molv\u00e6r Hivju, executive producer of Tindefilm, said: \u201cTindefilm\u2014based in the homeland of the mighty Vikings\u2014is honored to bring this truly authentic Viking history adventure series to the international market. The Norse heritage runs through our veins, and we are passionate about sharing our magnificent ancestral past with the whole world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paul Islwyn Thomas, CEO of Wildflame\u00a0Productions, said: \u201cViking history is revered throughout the world. This extreme survival television adventure combines ancient skills with epic endurance set against a breathtaking backdrop.
