First-time access to personal diaries and letters uncover scandals and secrets, including details of Edward\u2019s infamous abdication and marriage, love affairs and drug use.<\/p>\n<p><em>Princess Diana\u2019s \u2018Wicked\u2019 Stepmother<\/em> introduces the titular stepmother Raine Spencer n\u00e9e Legge, who was a formidable figure in the late princess\u2019 life. The doc features interviews with insiders such as the countess\u2019 close friends and staff, Diana\u2019s personal assistant Paul Burrell and screenwriter Julian Fellowes, who paint a picture of a volatile rivalry between the two women. It is produced by Firecrest Films LTD and distributed globally by Fremantle.<\/p>\n<p><em>Private Lives of the Windsors<\/em> is slated to premiere on Smithsonian Channel on Monday, October 7, while <em>Princess Diana&#8217;s &#8216;Wicked&#8217;
