Primal Media has appointed Ben Riley to the position of head of development.<\/p>\n

Formerly the head of entertainment formats at Lime Productions, Riley was behind several recent commissions in the U.K. and the U.S., including True Love or True Lies?<\/em> for MTV and #Dating No Filter<\/em> for E!. Prior to that, Ben was based in Australia, where he produced The Voice,<\/em> Big Brother Australia<\/em> and Beauty and the Geek<\/em> and headed up factual-entertainment development for Matchbox Pictures. He was previously associated with senior production roles on I’m a Celebrity…<\/em>, Big Brother UK<\/em> and 71 Degrees North<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Last week, Channel 4 confirmed Primal Media has been commissioned to make the coming-of-age, two-part documentary Home Free<\/em>, which will follow a group of young people with learning disabilities who are leaving home for the first time and moving into supported living apartments that offer up the chance of independent living. In June, STV acquired a majority share in the company.<\/p>\n

Mat Steiner, managing director of Primal Media, said: \u201cThe prize for bold content that can break through the noise and keep audiences addicted is higher than it\u2019s ever been. The addition of Ben\u2019s creative DNA to ours is very exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riley added: \u201cI am very much looking forward to joining Mat and Adam and helping to build on Primal’s brilliant slate.
