Episode one had more than 3 million viewers on BBC Two. In China, the show logged 520 million views on Tencent. Deals have also been secured with NHK in Japan, PBS in the U.S., BBC Earth in Canada, ABC Australia, France 5, VRT in Belgium, ZDFinfo in Germany, Russia&#8217;s Amedia, ETV in Estonia, Hungary&#8217;s MTVA, YLE Finland, DR in Denmark and NRK in Norway. The series is also airing on the BBC Earth channel in Asia (excluding China), the Middle East, Nordics, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and across CEE.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Dempsey, president of global markets at BBC Studios, commented, \u201cBBC Studios is rightly world-renowned for its natural-history programs and now with series such as <em>The Planets<\/em> we are gaining a similar reputation for our science programming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Planets<\/em> is a BBC Studios production with NOVA and WGBH Boston for BBC, PBS, co-produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures.
