National Geographic and Nat Geo WILD\u2019s SharkFest is returning this summer for an expanded seventh run that is set to air for three weeks across both networks.<\/p>\n
The first week launches on Nat Geo beginning Sunday, July 14, while Nat Geo WILD takes the following two weeks from July 21 to August 2. SharkFest is slated to feature a wide variety of programming about the animals, from the latest developments in shark research and preservation to new ways to predict shark attacks.<\/p>\n
World\u2019s Biggest Great White?<\/em>, which will be simulcast on both networks on Sunday, July 21, at 8 p.m., documents the re-emergence of what is thought to be the largest great white shark ever filmed. Nicknamed \u201cDeep Blue\u201d for her arrival and rapid departure, this great white shark, estimated to be 20 feet long and almost two and half tons, has not been captured on camera in more than five years.<\/p>\n Other SharkFest highlights include an experiment to determine if the weather can help predict shark attacks in Forecast: Shark Attack<\/em>\u00a0and the ultimate battle for dominance in Cannibal Sharks<\/em>. Great Shark Chow Down<\/em>, meanwhile, features footage of sharks feasting, and Man vs. Shark<\/em> joins marine biologist Jeremiah Sullivan, who has been developing an armored suit to go nose to nose with sharks to help with their preservation.<\/p>\n SharkFest aims to raise awareness about ocean health.
