TCB Media Rights has sold 60 hours from its factual slate to French and German broadcasters ahead of this summer\u2019s Sunny Side of the Doc market.<\/p>\n
In France, the Like A Shot Entertainment-produced three-part docuseries The Crusaders<\/em>, which tells the stories of medieval knights who dedicated their lives to fighting for their version of God, presold to RMC D\u00e9couverte in France. TCB and RMC have also recently co-invested in Egypt\u2019s Unexplained Files<\/em>.<\/p>\n Canal+\u2019s Planete+ has pre-bought World\u2019s Greatest Palaces<\/em>, a Woodcut Media series that investigates the history, feats of engineering and inspiring visions behind some of the world\u2019s biggest and most ambitious palaces. Also headed for France is Windfall\u2019s Mythical Beasts<\/em>, which has been picked up by TF1\u2019s Histoire channel as part of a 25-hour history package that also includes Wag TV\u2019s Secrets of the Magna Carta<\/em>, the third season of Like A Shot\u2019s Medieval Dead<\/em> and Symettrica\u2019s Wartime Crime<\/em>.<\/p>\n In Germany, ZDF has picked up Mythical Beasts<\/em> and Underground Worlds<\/em>, the later of which dives down into underground structures, both man-made and natural. Train Truckers<\/em>, which follows a family-run crew of heavy-haulage specialists as they transport locomotives around the world by road, rail and sea, sold to ProSieben.<\/p>\n Simona Argenti, senior sales manager at TCB, said: \u201cThe growing importance of key European broadcasters in forming collaborative commissioning networks makes attendance at Sunny Side of the Doc a key TCB priority. Sunny Side is a hidden gem of a market and an unmissable event in TCB\u2019s calendar. It\u2019s an interesting market from both a creative and commercial perspective, and the best way I know to find out what\u2019s getting made outside the bubble of U.K. production. It also gives us quality time with Europe\u2019s key commissioners, which is essential, given that a growing percentage of our deals now involve editorial input from broadcasters. Then, of course, there\u2019s the allure of La Rochelle in late June.
