Sunny Side of the Doc, an international marketplace for documentary and narrative experiences, has chosen Germany as this year\u2019s Country in Focus.<\/p>\n

For its 30th anniversary, the market will welcome a delegation of producers, buyers and distributors from Germany. Members of the AG DOK professional association of independent producers, with support from German Films, will be gathered together alongside more than 12 production companies, including Vidicom Media, a&o buero filmproduktion, fechnerMEDIA, NEW DOCS, L\u00e4ngengrad Filmproduktion, Karbe Film, COIN FILM, G-Film, Vision Airways and 4ED1.<\/p>\n

Sunny Side of the Doc 2019, which is also showcasing the notion of \u201cDocumentary needs Europe,\u201d will take place June 24 to 27 in La Rochelle, France.<\/p>\n

Simone Baumann, managing director of German Films, said: \u201cGermany has one of the largest theatrical and TV markets in the world and it has a very strong tradition in producing and co-producing documentaries. Sunny Side of the Doc is one of the most important international co-production platforms\u2014German producers have been coming here for years to present and to promote their own projects and also to join the projects of their foreign colleagues.
