The launch in Brazil follows on the heels of Smithsonian Channel\u2019s rollout in the U.K. and Ireland earlier this year. It\u2019s also available in Latin America, Canada and Singapore. The network\u2019s programming includes factual titles that cover history, travel, air and space, science, nature and pop culture.<\/p>\n<p>Smithsonian Channel partnered with media company Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicacao on the launch. The group will handle operations management, scheduling, ad sales, affiliate sales and marketing advisory for the network in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Hayden, president of Smithsonian Networks, said: \u201cSmithsonian Channel has been embraced internationally by non-fiction entertainment lovers at an increasing pace that surprises even us.
