Fast & the Furious star Tyrese Gibson is joining forces with Mark Burnett, chairman of Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s (MGM)\u00a0Worldwide Television Group, and MGM Television\u00a0for Celebrity Grand Prix<\/em>, a new prime-time competition series.<\/p>\n

Hosted and executive produced by Gibson, Celebrity Grand Prix<\/em> will feature stars from all across the entertainment spectrum as they\u2019re trained by professional race car drivers and then hit the track to race against their foes. Each week, the celebrity with the slowest time will be eliminated from the competition. As the season moves along, the racing challenges will become more difficult until one famous competitor is declared the winner.<\/p>\n

Burnett said: “Car racing is already such a beloved classic American sport that continues to resonate with new generations of audiences, and this show will give viewers an insider\u2019s look into what goes on behind-the-scenes of the race track.”<\/p>\n

Barry Poznick, MGM’s president of unscripted television, added: “Tyrese is the real deal in front of and behind the cameras and he\u2019s involved in all aspects of production. This show is every adrenaline junkie’s dream.”<\/p>\n
