Eight Days that Made Rome<\/em>, a new series about the Roman Empire hosted by Bettany Hughes, is slated to premiere on Smithsonian Channel in the new year.<\/p>\n An award-winning historian, author and broadcaster and Oxford University scholar, Hughes will guide viewers through eight days that defined the Roman Empire. In Eight Days that Made Rome<\/em>, she will travel across the vast region, exploring its history and investigating new archeological evidence.<\/p>\n Eight Days that Made Rome<\/em> premieres on Smithsonian Channel on Monday, January 7, at 8 p.m. A special premiere episode sneak peek will air the night before on Sunday, January 6, at 9 p.m.<\/p>\n The series, produced by Adam Bullmore and Matt Robins, is directed by Jim Greayer for October Films.
