BBC has ordered two new installments of the crime series Murder Mystery and My Family<\/em> for broadcast on BBC One in daytime slots next year.<\/p>\n

Murder Mystery and My Family<\/em> looks on as criminal barristers Sasha Wass and Jeremy Dein try to determine if individuals convicted of murder and subsequently executed were, in fact, guilty and if not, clear their family’s name.<\/p>\n

Two new 10×60-minute seasons were commissioned from Chalkboard TV in addition to a 10×60-minute partner show titled Murder Mystery and My Family: Case Closed?<\/em>, which further explores cases covered in the original series.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Bradbury, BBC’s commissioning editor, remarked: \u201cWhen Chalkboard Television pitched the territory of murder crimes, they were slightly cautious because it felt so different for a daytime audience. But this type of distinctive format is exactly what we are after. The audience have really got stuck into the intrigue, suspense and emotion so brilliantly brought to life by Sasha and Jeremy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Benson, executive producer and director of Chalkboard TV, added: “The response to the first series of Murder Mystery and My Family<\/em> was extraordinary and the concept and cases seemed to really connect with the BBC audience.
