ITV America’s Leftfield Pictures has hired seasoned development exec Andrew Schechter as senior VP of development for the company.<\/p>\n

In his new position, Schechter will report to Shawn Witt and Gretchen Palek, co-presidents of Leftfield. He previously worked at Scripps Networks, where he was VP of development for Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel. Before that, Schechter\u00a0was a producer at Animal Planet. He started his career in children’s television at Discovery Kids.<\/p>\n

Witt and Palek stated: \u201cAndrew is an integral piece of the Leftfield Pictures strategy as the label continues to bolster its growing slate.
