{"id":11221,"date":"2018-05-07T11:32:30","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T15:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/dietland-companion-talk-show-set-amc\/"},"modified":"2018-05-07T11:32:30","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T15:32:30","slug":"dietland-companion-talk-show-set-for-amc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/dietland-companion-talk-show-set-for-amc\/","title":{"rendered":"Dietland Companion Talk Show Set for AMC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMC has greenlit<em> Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler<\/em>, a companion talk show for<em> Dietland<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The talk show, produced for AMC by Embassy Row (<em>Talking Dead<\/em>, <em>Beyond Stranger Things<\/em>, <em>Watch What Happens Live<\/em>), will air live on Mondays, beginning June 4, immediately following episodes of the original series <em>Dietland<\/em>. The first episode of <em>Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler<\/em> will air on Monday, June 4 at 11 p.m. after two back-to-back episodes of <em>Dietland<\/em>. It will then move to its regular weekly timeslot at 10 p.m. the following week.<\/p>\n<p>The show will see Tyler lead topical discussions about the broader, female-centric issues and themes that <em>Dietland<\/em> touches on. The talk show will not be confined to exploring the companion series itself. Tyler will talk to celebrity fans, series actors and producers, as well as relevant journalists, writers, comedians and others. Embassy Row\u2019s Michael Davies and Amanda McPhillips serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Dietland<\/em> is an incredibly well-timed series that focuses on a multitude of critical issues facing women today,\u201d said David Madden, the president of original programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. \u201cWe know <em>Dietland<\/em> will be a launchpad for conversation and this companion series makes room for these important discussions to happen. We couldn\u2019t be happier to have the extraordinarily smart and talented Aisha Tyler leading the conversation for this series, which will be topical, issue-oriented, unfiltered and funny, just like its scripted sibling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyler added, \u201cThe issues of identity, sexuality, body image and self-actualization raised in <em>Dietland<\/em> are more urgent than ever.
