ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has entered into a co-development partnership with Wendy Darke’s True to Nature for a number of projects, including the co-pro Volcano 24<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The first project to kick off production under the pact is Volcano 24<\/em>, a co-production with ZDF and Thirteen Productions for PBS Nature and ARTE. The hour-long film will follow a day in the life of people and animals living alongside active volcanoes around the world, including in Hawaii, Central America and Europe.<\/p>\n

Darke, exec producer and founder of True to Nature, stated: “The big idea at the heart of this story is that every day on our planet 30 volcanoes erupt in a violent display of power, and we discover that without them life wouldn\u2019t exist at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued:\u00a0“I couldn\u2019t wish for a more talented, experienced and dedicated international team of creatives to work alongside to realize the ambition of this film as we capture new stories around the world of life flourishing in the shadows of active volcanoes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ralf Rueckauer, the VP of ZDFE.unscripted, noted: “This is the first cooperation with Wendy Darke\u2019s new company and this makes it something very special. We are very proud and honored to be working with her and to be able to benefit from her enormous experience gathered from her time as head of the BBC Natural History Unit.\u201d<\/p>\n
