Banijay Group has acquired the factual indie producer 7Wonder, marking its first U.K. non-scripted acquisition.<\/p>\n

Alexandra Fraser, Liza Abbott and Simon Ellse founded 7Wonder in 2014 and will continue to run the business as chief creative, CEO and CFO, respectively. The deal will see more than 160 hours of 7Wonder programming added to Banijay UK\u2019s non-scripted slate.<\/p>\n

7Wonder’s roster includes BBC Two\u2019s Back to the Land with Kate Humble<\/em>, the landmark Sky Arts series Tate Britain\u2019s Great British Walks<\/em>, CBeebies’ preschool reality series Do You Know?<\/em>\u00a0and the U.K. adaptation of\u00a0My Kitchen Rules <\/em>for Channel 4.<\/p>\n

Banijay Rights will distribute 7Wonder content going forward.<\/p>\n

Fraser said: \u201cWe are absolutely delighted to be joining Banijay. With RDF and IWC, Banijay already enjoys\u00a0a strong reputation for delivering high-quality factual programming\u00a0in the U.K., which we hope to build on, but we’re tremendously excited, too,\u00a0by the international opportunities that will now open up to us.”<\/p>\n
