Discovery Communications has promoted Winona Meringolo to senior VP of development for Investigation Discovery (ID), effective immediately.<\/p>\n

Meringolo will continue to work under Jane Latman, the channel’s executive VP of development. Meringolo helps develop original content for the leading true-crime network in the U.S. She will also manage the curation of ID’s mystery and suspense programming.<\/p>\n

Meringolo first joined ID in 2011 as senior director of development for ID and AHC, later taking on the role of VP. Earlier in her career, she was manager of development for TLC. She was first hired by Discovery in 2005 as part of the Discovery Health Channel development team. She also served as head of development for Discovery Digital Media.<\/p>\n

Latman commented: \u201cIt\u2019s no wonder producers clamor to work with Winona. The personal attention she brings to each partnership, from pitch to greenlight, ensures that every show is specially crafted to suit ID\u2019s audience. Of course, viewers only know her by the finished product\u2014their favorite TV shows, in many cases\u2014but we know how invaluable her voice and vision are to ID\u2019s continued success.
