As a culmination of the BBC\u2019s four years of programming for the 100th anniversary of World War I, it is paying tribute to the centenary of 1918 with a Year of History, a range of content that will be available across TV, radio and online.<\/p>\n

The BBC is collaborating with 14-18 NOW on major projects and with partners such as Imperial War Museums, Arts and Humanities Research Council, Wellcome Trust and others across the U.K. Through live events, presenter-led series, testimony-driven documentaries, digital content and a range of collaborations, the Year of History programming will explore the political, cultural and social shifts that ultimately set the agenda for the next 100 years and shaped the world as we know it today. Content will include World War One Centenary: Armistice<\/em>, 100 Years of Votes<\/em>, Spanish Flu Pandemic<\/em>, 100 Years of the RAF<\/em> and more.<\/p>\n

There will be content across the BBC\u2019s local, national and global outlets, with the English Regions highlighting local stories, a range of new commissions from the Nations and programming broadcast on the World Service. Schools will also be able to access new materials to complement the curriculum, allowing students to learn more details about one of the most turbulent years in British history. Much of the content will be made available online.<\/p>\n

BBC Director-General Tony Hall said: \u201cWe see 2018 as our chance to inspire a new generation with extraordinary stories of courage and sacrifice.
