Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has revealed its new non-scripted label Human, to be led by producer\/director Alan Brown.<\/p>\n

Human will work to create high-end international content based on Sony Pictures Entertainment\u2019s existing IP and that of the wider Sony family. The outfit will also be developing its own proprietary factual entertainment formats. Human will be based at SPT\u2019s London office and report to the president of SPT International Production, Wayne Garvie.<\/p>\n

Brown’s production, development and commissioning credits include formatted shows such as The Apprentice<\/em>, The Restaurant<\/em>, Grow Your Own Drugs<\/em>, The Very Hungry Frenchman<\/em>, Driving School of Mum and Dad<\/em> and Honey, We\u2019re Killing the Kids<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNon-scripted content\u2014whether documentaries or entertainment formats\u2014is a key part of our overall content strategy,\u2019\u2019 said Garvie. \u201cAlan has been responsible for many wonderful programs over the years and, with his drive and enthusiasm, is the ideal person to oversee our new label, Human. Within the Sony group we have multiple sources of intellectual property, many stories to tell; Alan will help us unlock this potential through the Human label\u2019.\u2019<\/p>\n

Brown said: \u201cI am enormously excited to be joining Sony Pictures Television. We will be making fabulous shows that are both revealing and entertaining. Our mission will be content that can emotionally engage the audience.
