A+E Networks UK has commissioned Woodcut Media to produce the new factual series Combat Machines<\/em> for HISTORY.<\/p>\n

Combat Machines<\/em>, which will broadcast on HISTORY in the U.K. in 2018, is the third series in the Combat<\/em> franchise, following on the heels of Combat Ships<\/em> and Combat Trains<\/em>. The new 8×1-hour series showcases feats in military engineering, including inventions such as Hiram Maxim\u2019s machine gun through to current armored vehicles.<\/p>\n

It focuses on the definitive machines and weapons of both World Wars, as well as the Cold War. Themes covered in the series include The Desert Rats, Machines of WW1, Vehicles of WW2, Electronic Warfare, Battlefield Engineering, Vietnam War, Mechanized Infantry and The Arms Race.<\/p>\n

The series was ordered by Dan Korn, the VP of programming for HISTORY at A+E Networks UK. Combat Machines <\/em>will be distributed internationally by TCB Media Rights.<\/p>\n

Woodcut Media\u2019s executive producer for the series, Adam Jacobs, said, \u201cWith the demand for military and history content still going strong, we are delighted to be producing Combat Machines <\/em>as we evolve this informative and entertaining franchise.\u201d<\/p>\n

A+E Networks UK\u2019s Korn added, \u201cHISTORY viewers have an enduring fascination with how things are made and the \u2018great leaps forward\u2019 in mechanization which occur in the midst of conflict.\u00a0Combat Machines<\/em> is the perfect opportunity to examine those moments of engineering ingenuity which, in many cases, made the difference between triumph and disaster.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Heaney, the CEO of TCB Media Rights, commented, \u201cThis isn\u2019t just the latest in a franchise; it\u2019s a contemporary series that is responding to many platforms\u2019 needs around the world.
