Rive Gauche Television (RGTV) has acquired rights for several new titles that it has added to its catalog of more than 2,500 hours, in addition to securing sales in the lead-up to MIPCOM.<\/p>\n
The company is presenting the TLC series Project Dad<\/em>, from Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. In Project Dad<\/em>, comedian Donnell Rawlings, actor Daniel Cosgrove and disc jockey DJ Skribble spend time alone with their kids. The program \u201cprovides viewers with a unique perspective into the lives of celebrity dads who have been left to be a single father for a few days,\u201d said Jon Kramer, the CEO of Rive Gauche Television. \u201cThe dads struggle to balance caring for a home, parenting and pursuing a full-time career\u2014all on their own. No moms, no help, no mercy!\u201d Celebrity guests include comedian Dave Chappelle and rapper Lil Jon.<\/p>\n The Jury Room<\/em>, meanwhile, is a new original crime program co-produced by AMC Networks International Broadcasting and FirstLook TV. The six-part series revisits real murder cases in which the convicted killers have always maintained their innocence. \u201cThe Jury Room<\/em> is quite unique in that the audience now will have a firsthand look at what happens in a jury-room deliberation,\u201d Kramer says. \u201cThe series opens up with a case and introduces new evidence to the jurors, who must now decide if the suspect is guilty or innocent.\u201d<\/p>\n In the ten-part series Written in Blood<\/em>, best-selling thriller writer Simon Toyne (The Boy Who Saw<\/em>) discusses with other crime writers how their fictional work has been inspired by real-life crimes. Each episode examines a different criminal case using reconstructions, real-life footage, and interviews with senior police officers, family members, key witnesses and other experts.<\/p>\n RGTV also secured the high-end documentary Genius Factory<\/em> from Wavelength Entertainment. It documents an eccentric billionaire from the 1980s who wanted to create the world\u2019s smartest kids and therefore funded the largest legal genetic experiment in human history.<\/em><\/p>\n A MIPCOM, RGTV will also debut its first-made-for-TV movie, Overexposed<\/em>, a thriller in which scandalous texts lead to multiple murders. It stars Marguerite Moreau and Mary Katherine Duhon. The company inked a deal for Overexposed<\/em> ahead of the market, with TF1 in France picking up the TV movie. In addition, FOX MENA went for Along for the Bride<\/em>, Ultimate Homes<\/em>, Pretty Bad Girls<\/em>, Wives with Knives<\/em> and Happily Never After<\/em>.
