{"id":10379,"date":"2017-07-24T12:44:06","date_gmt":"2017-07-24T16:44:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/drg-scores-global-sales-for-dont-tell-the-bride\/"},"modified":"2017-07-24T13:17:33","modified_gmt":"2017-07-24T17:17:33","slug":"drg-scores-global-sales-for-wedding-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/drg-scores-global-sales-for-wedding-series\/","title":{"rendered":"DRG Scores Global Sales for Wedding Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DRG has picked up the distribution rights for the 12th season of the U.K.&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Don&#8217;t Tell the Bride<\/em> and has also sold the show&#8217;s 11th installment to a number of broadcasters around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The British version of <em>Don&#8217;t Tell the Bride<\/em> is headed to Foxtel in Australia, RTL in Germany, Medialaan in Belgium, BBC Worldwide in Africa and Poland, ITV in Asia and the Middle East, Sanama TV in Finland, HRT in Croatia, Telecom Media 360 in Latvia, Digicast for a pay window in Italy, and Discovery Networks for broadcast in Italy, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p>The show, produced by Renegade Pictures, sees a couple given a specific amount of money for their wedding, which must be planned in three weeks by only the groom. It first began airing on BBC3 in the U.K. before moving to BBC1, Sky1 and then Channel 4&#8217;s E4, where it is debuting\u00a0this week.<\/p>\n<p>Elin Thomas, DRG\u2019s executive VP of sales, commented: \u201c<em>Don\u2019t Tell the Bride<\/em> is a brilliant show that successfully resonates with audiences all around the world. The format is simple and perfect for tailoring locally as every country and culture has its own traditions and views of what makes a great wedding. And indeed, there is a universal acknowledgment that the groom is probably not the best person to plan this important day on his own!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese latest sales of the British version\u2014and the fact that is has been seen in more than 200 territories\u2014is testimony to the team at Renegade Pictures, who consistently cast and produce a compelling U.K. version of the show, which in turn generates a huge amount of press and social media engagement from its target audience.
