In 2015, Ross brought in longtime HBO Documentary Films producer John Hoffman to head up the development activities for the flagship network in the alternative and specials area.<\/p>\n<p>Hoffman has kept his eye on bringing to the channel event-level docs meant to appeal to a global audience. On July 6, Discovery Channel in the U.S. and Discovery networks around the world will debut <em>Mosquito<\/em>, a timely film that takes an in-depth look at this tiny but dangerous creature and the threat it poses today.
