Channel 4 has ordered a second 30×30-minute season of the hit\u00a0daytime series\u00a0Extreme Cake Makers<\/em> from Boomerang.<\/p>\n

Extreme Cake Makers<\/em> spotlights the successes and failures of a group of people who create elaborate\u00a0cakes. The show is commissioned by David Sayer for Channel 4, with Sam Grace serving as executive producer. The last season featured such creations as\u00a0a life-size Shetland pony, a four-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty and a ballgown with edible peacock feathers.<\/p>\n

Matt Pritchard, the managing director at Boomerang, remarked: \u201cAfter a successful first [season]\u00a0of Extreme Cake Makers<\/em>, we are really pleased to be given the opportunity to build this returnable daytime brand from our Cardiff production base. We\u2019re looking forward to slicing further into the eccentric world of elaborate cake making.\u201d<\/p>\n
