International Television Distribution (WBITV).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">The series will be represented by Globo in Latin America, Africa and Europe, and by WBITV in Asia, North America, Australia and the U.K.&nbsp;The format rights have been sold by WBITV to Globo.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Led by Julian Paes (<em>India: A Love Story<\/em>),&nbsp;<em>Gabriela<\/em>, which aired on Globo TV in Brazil last year,&nbsp;revolves around the life of a young female immigrant. <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">The 55&#215;45-minute new version of the show is penned by&nbsp;Walcyr Carraso. It will star&nbsp;Antonio Fagundes (<em>Irrational Heart<\/em>) and Marcelo Serrado (<em>Looks &amp; Essence<\/em>).&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">The original show, inspired by&nbsp;Jorge Amado&#8217;s book titled&nbsp;<em>Gabriela, Cravo e Canela<\/em>,<em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">was a hit during the 1970s.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>S&Atilde;O PAULO: An updated version of Gabriela, a popular Brazilian telenovela, is to be internationally distributed this year by Globo and Warner Bros.
