{"id":2232,"date":"2023-02-17T09:46:06","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T14:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvmiddleeastafrica\/mena-ott-revenues-double-2028\/"},"modified":"2023-02-21T12:27:18","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T17:27:18","slug":"mena-ott-revenues-to-double-by-2028","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvmiddleeastafrica\/mena-ott-revenues-to-double-by-2028\/","title":{"rendered":"MENA OTT Revenues to Double by 2028"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The OTT streaming of TV episodes and movies in the Middle East and North Africa will generate revenues of $5.7 billion by 2028, up from $2.8 billion last year, according to Digital TV Research.<\/p>\n<p>More than half of those revenues (55 percent) will come from Turkey, Israel and Saudi Arabia.\u00a0The 13 Arabic-speaking countries will generate $2.47 billion in 2028; up from $1.28 billion in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>AVOD revenues are set to rise from $635 million last year to $1.55 billion, much of it from Turkey (62 percent), with Israel at 11 percent and Saudi Arabia at 10 percent. SVOD will remain the dominant platform by revenues, rising from $2 billion to $3.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research, commented: \u201cWe forecast 42 million SVOD subscriptions by 2028, double from 21 million at end-2022. Netflix will have 11 million subscribers by 2028.
