BBC Studios has aligned with the free-to-view satellite television provider Openview in South Africa to launch the multi-genre channel BBC UKTV.<\/p>\n
BBC UKTV will offer a variety of high-quality entertainment across all genres\u2014from natural-history series to soaps and children\u2019s shows.<\/p>\n
Highlights in factual entertainment include\u00a0The Great British Bake Off<\/i>\u00a0season eight\u00a0<\/i>and cooking shows Rachel Khoo\u2019s Kitchen Notebook<\/i> and Mary Berry Cooks,<\/i> alongside motoring shows such as Million Dollar Car Hunters<\/i>\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0Top Gear <\/i>(season 19).<\/i><\/p>\n
The scripted slate will feature the hospital-based soap Casualty <\/i>(season 36)\u00a0and Doctors <\/i>(season 22), as well as the long-running sitcom My Family.<\/i><\/p>\n
From the BBC\u2019s natural-history collection, <\/span>Wild Africa <\/i>and\u00a0Africa with Ade Adepitan\u00a0<\/span><\/i>will join<\/span>\u00a0a selection of Sir David Attenborough\u2019s docuseries; Big Bird, Giant Dinosaur, Giant Egg, Fabulous Frogs <\/i>and Natural Curiosities <\/i>join the channel later this year.<\/i><\/p>\n For children aged 0 to 12 between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. every morning, the lineup features the first seasons of action-packed geographical adventure\u00a0Go Jetters<\/i>, children\u2019s cookery show\u00a0My World Kitchen<\/i>, wildlife show\u00a0Andy\u2019s Safari Adventures<\/i> and My Pet & Me<\/i>, which helps children appreciate what it really means to have a pet.<\/p>\n Arran Tindall, senior VP for EMEA key markets at BBC Studios, said, \u201cWe are proud to partner with Openview to launch our first-ever free-to-view channel in South Africa.
