The African Movie Channel is expanding the development and production of its own films and series with the establishment of AMC Original Productions (AMCOP).<\/p>\n

The company operates the African Movie Channel (AMC), African Movie Channel Series (AMC Series) and Nolly Africa on a range of platforms across the region, including Kwese TV, StarTimes and StarSat TV, Azam TV and Zuku. Building on its long-standing relationships with Nollywood producers, AMC is setting up AMCOP to develop its own IP, with 20 exclusively owned movies eyed for this year. Filmmakers working with AMCOP include Jade Osiberu, Paul Igwe, Ola Producer, Ema Edosio and Daniel Oriahi.<\/p>\n

Yvonne Dublin-Green, head of channels, commented, \u201cThe creation of AMCOP has been a long time coming and is a natural progression for AMC. As a global player, it has always been important that the content we create is of superior quality, and we have made sure we partnered with filmmakers, actors and actresses who are of the highest caliber to join us on this journey. We have always been interested is fostering and showcasing African talent, and AMCOP is the perfect opportunity to bring that about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lola Onigbogi, a founding director of AMC, said, \u201cIt has been an incredible experience working with these filmmakers, and AMC looks forward to working with even more talented filmmakers, to provide the kind of content blend that our modern African audiences demand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since 2016, AMC has been delivering its own magazine series, such as AMC Movie Talk<\/em> and Bloggers Round Table<\/em>. It produced its first drama series, Asunder,\u00a0<\/em>in December 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
