DUBAI: The on-demand video streaming service STARZ Play Arabia has appointed John Penney, Starz’s chief strategy officer, as chairman of its board of directors.<\/p>\n

In his new role, Penney will oversee the board and management of STARZ Play Arabia, which is available in 17 territories across the MENA region. He will offer\u00a0advice and counsel to the president, while ensuring\u00a0that the company’s directors are able to make informed decisions to support the business.<\/p>\n

Penney will also continue to serve as chief strategy officer of Starz,\u00a0a role he took up in 2013 after joining the company in 2010.<\/p>\n

Penney remarked: \u201cI\u2019m honored to take on this role for such a dynamic and active company as STARZ Play Arabia. I look forward to working closely with the dedicated and passionate STARZ Play Arabia team to deliver the most dynamic and customer-friendly service in the region.
