TelevisaUnivision has entered into an agreement with HMTV DTC, a subsidiary of Hemisphere Media Group, to acquire the streaming platform Pantaya.<\/p>\n
The deal for the U.S. Spanish-language streaming platform for movies and series is in exchange for cash plus certain Puerto Rican radio assets, including WKAQ AM and KQ105 FM currently owned by TelevisaUnivision.<\/p>\n
The addition of Pantaya\u2019s content, subscribers and team further accelerates the transformation of TelevisaUnivision, bolstering its global streaming offering ViX+, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2022.<\/p>\n
