The Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards have revealed that the fifth edition will be held in San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna, Tenerife, from May 12 to 14.<\/p>\n
In addition to the ceremony on May 14, the Quirino Awards will offer different activities throughout May for professionals in the audiovisual sector and for the general public.<\/p>\n
The Co-production and Business Forum, organized by ICEX, Animation from Spain and PROEXCA and set to take place on May 13 and 14, will bring together a hundred participants, including representatives from production companies, distributors, sales agencies, TV channels and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n
Confirmed to participate in the Forum are Adult Swim, \u00c1nima, Animoon, Blue Zoo, CAKE, Cartoon Saloon, Cinema Management Group, Cloth Cat Animation, Dandelooo, DeAPlaneta Entertainment, El Reino Infantil, Ikki Films, Indie Sales, Kidglove, KiKA, Lupus Films, Miyu Distribution, NTV, Pakapaka, PGS Entertainment, RTP, RTVE, Se\u00f1al Colombia, Sesame Workshop, The Walt Disney Company, Toonz Media and WildBrain.<\/p>\n
The Forum will also host activities such as the meeting of Ibero-American public television and two worktables. Organized by the Conference of Audiovisual and Cinematographic Authorities of Ibero-America, European Film Agencies and Quirino Awards, the first worktable will analyze the future of Ibero-American animation and the ties between Europe and Ibero-America. The second worktable will focus on the role of women in Ibero-American animation.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the Forum will serve as a framework for the new edition of the Quirino Ibero-American Animation White Paper: Phase II, dimension and figures of the sector<\/em>, a publication that offers a radiography map of the animation sector in the countries that comprise the Ibero-American region.<\/p>\n Following the Forum, the fifth Quirino Awards will hold its ceremony at the Leal Theater, where a total of 19 finalist works from 12 countries will compete in nine categories.<\/p>\n In order to get to know the selected works and their authors, the Quirino Awards will present a cycle of online talks with the finalists of the three main categories. The cycle will begin on May 2 with a program dedicated to the finalists for Best Series, while the second program will be broadcast May 3, dedicated to those in the Best Short Film category.
