Prior to joining Univision, Schwimmer was executive VP of DISH Media and group president of Sling TV.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Schwimmer was the president and CEO of Fuse Media and led programming, marketing and media sales for DISH Network. He is currently on the Board of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) and a member of the NAACP Entertainment Industry Board of Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>As president of global platform strategy and revenue at Univision, Schwimmer will report directly to CEO Wade Davis. He will also work closely with President and Chief Transformation Officer Pierluigi Gazzolo on global app distribution for the company&#8217;s two-tiered streaming service, scheduled to launch this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMichael will complement our team by leading global distribution for the combined library of Televisa and Univision content, including all subscription and content licensing activities, and will oversee our efforts to ensure that thousands of hours of our Spanish-language content reach valued audiences worldwide,\u201d said Davis. \u201cHis extensive experience leading the strategy for multicultural and AVOD offerings and his proven track record navigating corporate transformations make him the ideal addition to our team, and his expertise and passion for increasing Spanish-language representation in the media speaks to our company\u2019s purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schwimmer said, \u201cUnivision is an iconic brand that embodies its mission of entertaining, informing and empowering Spanish-speaking audiences across all facets of its business.
