Univision has unveiled a new corporate leadership team ahead of closing its merger deal with Televisa and set in place a new structure for its entertainment, sports and news segments.<\/p>\n
The merger is expected to close in the second half of this year. The new leadership team will include Carlos Ferreiro as CFO, Pilar Ramos as general counsel and corporate secretary, Jose Tomas as chief administrative officer and Flavia Vigio joins as executive VP of communications.<\/p>\n
“Today\u2019s appointments build upon and strengthen our existing, incredible leadership team, which was responsible for successfully launching Univision\u2019s transformation over the last six months,” said CEO Wade Davis. “Together, this expanded team of passionate and talented executives will position Univision, and ultimately the combined Televisa-Univision, to capture the huge market opportunity to serve the Spanish-language audience worldwide. As our transformation gains momentum through the introduction of new digital products, significant partnerships and the growing strength of our unmatched content engine, there is no question that with this new leadership team we will continue to accelerate our market leadership and capture the enormous opportunity for value creation ahead of us.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the entertainment segment, newly appointed Chief Brand and Impact Officer Jessica Rodriguez (previously president of entertainment and CMO) will oversee creative strategy and branding, marketing and media strategy, talent strategy and insights, research and social impact, equity and inclusion.<\/p>\n
Ignacio Meyer is taking on the role of executive VP of music and non-scripted entertainment, while Leonor Sotillo joins Univision as senior VP of scripted strategy. Elisa Segovia, who currently oversees content strategy and scheduling for Univision, UniM\u00e1s and Galavisi\u00f3n networks, will be transitioning to a new role as senior VP of creative strategy and insights.<\/p>\n
Daniel Coronell is stepping down as president of the news division, to be succeeded by Leopoldo Gomez. Juan Carlos Rodriguez has been tapped as president of global sports enterprises, with Olek Loewenstein named as president of sports content.<\/p>\n
