Lerner is being honored for his significant contributions to the Latin American media industry across his storied career. He will receive the award at NATPE Virtual on January 22 following a keynote conversation with Anna Carugati, the group editorial director of\u00a0World Screen<\/i>. The award is being presented in association with NATPE.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver his three decades at Disney, Diego Lerner has witnessed firsthand the dramatic evolution of the Latin American media sector,\u201d says Ricardo Guise, the president and publisher of World Screen<\/em>. \u201cWe are honored to be presenting him with the second annual Premio \u00cdcono TV Latina as he and his team revolutionize the SVOD landscape in the region and set new trends for content production and distribution and fan engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n As president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America,\u00a0Lerner leads the company\u2019s business in the region, working to capitalize on the\u00a0changing media landscape and aligning the company\u2019s priorities for future\u00a0growth, including creating new high-quality content, technological innovation,\u00a0global expansion and distribution in all its forms, business models and media,\u00a0including direct-to-consumer. He works in close collaboration with the Disney\u00a0Parks, Experiences and Products segment, supporting this business in the\u00a0region. Most recently, Lerner was in charge of launching Disney+ in Latin\u00a0America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n Lerner, who has been part of The Walt Disney Company since 1990, led the launch of Disney channels in Latin America and was instrumental in crafting a strategy for creating local content throughout the region.
