Of all the new programs that debuted across Latin America last month, Mi hermano es un clon<\/em> on Canal 13 in Argentina stirred up the most social media buzz, according to The WIT.<\/p>\n

The romantic telenovela, in which three young women fight over the same man, saw some 62,000 comments on Facebook and Twitter surrounding its debut.<\/p>\n

Espelho da Vida<\/em> on Brazil’s TV Globo had around 19,000 tweets. The telenovela follows as a film crew travels to a small village in Minas Gerais to shoot a feature film about an unresolved murder, that of the young Julia in 1905. Things take an unexpected turn when the main actress of the film travels back in time to the moment of the crime and discovers that she is the reincarnation of Julia.<\/p>\n

The teen telenovela Like, la leyenda<\/em> debuted on Las Estrellas in Mexico also to around 19,000 social media comments. It narrates the adventures of a group of young people of different nationalities studying at the LIKE institute (Life Institute of Knowledge and Evolution) and devoting their lives to music.<\/p>\n

Canal 13 in Chile premiered Pacto de Sangre<\/em> to some 9,000 tweets. The novela centers on the reunion of a group of four male friends in their 40, who gather to celebrate the wedding of one of them. The bachelor party goes awry when a young prostitute is found dead, and it is revealed she was under 18.<\/p>\n

In Argentina, the launch of El gran premio de la cocina<\/em> on Canal 13 stirred up some 5,000 tweets. The reality competition sees 16 amateur cooks compete in challenges where they have to prove their technique and creativity, and stay calm and focused, in order to impress a panel of expert judges.<\/p>\n

There were around 4,000 social media comments with the debut of El secreto de Selena<\/em> on TNT Latin America in Mexico. The biopic series, adapted from the book of the same name by journalist Mar\u00eda Celeste Arrar\u00e1s, looks back at the tragic life of Mexican singer Selena Quintanilla, who was murdered in Texas in 1995.<\/p>\n

Telefe in Argentina launched Familias Frente a Frente: desaf\u00edo en la cocina<\/em>, a local adaptation of the format Family Food Fight<\/em>, also to around 4,000 tweets. The cooking competition features diverse and multigenerational Argentinean families who go head to head in high-pressure cooking challenges, sharing a common kitchen, to win a cash prize.<\/p>\n

Pasado de copas<\/em> debuted on the same network to around 3,000 comments. A local adaptation of the sketch series Drunk History<\/em>, the format features historical reenactments, three in each episode, by A-list talents and drunken storytellers.<\/p>\n

Mi familia baila mejor<\/em> on Canal RCN in Colombia saw some 2,000 tweets. The first version of the talent search format My Family Dances Best<\/em> (created by Se\u00f1or Mono) looks for the best dancing family in the territory, comprised of at least three people.<\/p>\n

Am\u00e9rica TV’s launch of El artista del a\u00f1o, el d\u00fao perfecto<\/em> in Peru also drummed up around 2,000 Twitter and Facebook comments. A spin-off of an entertainment show that challenges Peruvian celebrities in a contest mixing singing, dancing and scenic expression, this “duet” version sees the best performers of previous editions paired with new celebrities to form teams of two.<\/p>\n
